University House is the staff club at The University of Melbourne.
For membership details please contact University House reception on (03) 83445254 during office hours.


  Ordinary Membership open to:
  • Full-time and part-time staff of The University of Melbourne.
  • Members of The University of Melbourne Council.
  • Members of The University  of Melbourne Committee of Convocation.
  • Senior full time salaried staff from affiliated colleges and other organisations closely connected with The University of Melbourne.
  • PhD candidates enrolled at The University of Melbourne.
  • Visiting members of staffs from other universities.
  • Current Masters by research candidates.
  • Former members of staff.

Associate Membership
Post Graduate membership: Full time higher degree research (post graduate) students – who are not members (full or part time) of The University of Melbourne staff,
are eligible to apply at a reduced fee.

Associate Members may not stand for election, propose or second other members or sign in guests for lunch in the Main Dining Room.

Affiliated Membership
Open to a staff member of another Victorian University and/or a member of an affiliated organisation. .
Affiliated Members may not stand for election, propose or second other members or sign in guests for lunch in the Main Dining Room

Alumni (Graduate) Membership
The University of Melbourne Alumni are welcome to join University House as an affiliated member at a reduced fee. .
Alumni Members may not stand for election, propose or second other members or sign in guests for lunch in the Main Dining Room.

Honorary or Temporary Membership
(No charge) On recommendation of an Ordinary Member and on approval by the Committee, this type of membership is available for 30 days to'official' visiting academics and staff to
The University of Melbourne.
Temporary Members may not stand for election, propose or second other members or sign in guests for lunch in the Main Dining Room.
