Private Dining and Function Catering, Conferences and Meetings

University House is conveniently positioned 5 minutes from central Melbourne and within easy walk of major attractions and business centres.

University House has a range of Function and Private Dining Rooms which are available to all members for private use or University related events. 
Each of the rooms are complemented by a selection of interesting menus and a comprehensive wine list suited to both small and large events.

A selection of adaptive and flexible event spaces also enable University House to host both small and large meetings, conferences, workshops and all day seminars.
Theatre, boardroom, and round table events can be catered for with audio visual equipment and internet access available on request. A short description of each room follows;

Wireless internet is available on request in larger rooms.
Mininum charge $500 for half day; $1000 full day - Minimum Charge includes room charge, catering (your choice), AV setup and AV screens, fully staffed for full or half day.

Private Dining Rooms

• THE CELADON ROOM is the smallest of the private dining facilities, seating up to 6 guests. This room is decorated in a Victorian Oriental style and overlooks
  an intimate oriental garden. This room is ideal for working lunches and intimate dinners.
• THE VICTORIA ROOM, furnished in an elegant Victorian style and complemented by an impressive antique candelabra,
  the room's period round table is perfectly suited for private dining of up to 10 guests.
• THE LEATHER ROOM is offered in conjunction with the Victoria Room for pre dinner drinks but may also be used for small meetings,
  afternoon teas or intimate cocktail parties.
• A beautifully light room suitable for up to 12 guests, THE REGENCY ROOM is furnished in the Regency period style.
  The room is also complemented by it's own private sitting room - perfect for pre dinner drinks.
• Purposely built to house a collection of walnut Renaissance-revival furniture (relocated from a Paris apartment),
  THE KARAGHEUSIAN ROOM is an impressive venue for formal dining for up to 30 guests. The rooms is also home to an original Breughel II painting.

Function Rooms

• THE MATTHAEI ROOM displays some 200 pieces of early and rare glass and provides the ideal setting for a private evening function
   for up to 60 seated guests or 80 guests for cocktail parties
• On the first floor THE UPPER EAST DINING ROOM provides a perfect quiet and secluded venue for private lunch and dinner functions
   or workshops and all day seminars. Seating up to 70 guests or 100 guests for cocktail parties.
• THE MAIN DINING ROOM is available for evening and exclusive weekend events, this room can accommodate up to 250 guests for
  seated dining and up to 400 guests for standing cocktail parties. With a beautiful garden backdrop,
  The Main Dining Room provides the perfect setting for your formal dinning requirements or wedding reception.

A la Carte

• A la Carte dining at lunchtime is available in THE MATTHAEI ROOM while dinner is offered in THE MAIN DINING ROOM, unless otherwise advised.
